Men’s Soccer Gets Back in Win Column After 2-1 Victory at Eastern Naz

Quincy, Mass. The Framingham State men's soccer team scored two first-half goals en route to a 2-1 non-league win over Eastern Nazarene Tuesday evening in Qunicy.  

THE BASICS: 

- Score:  Framingham State 2, Eastern Nazarene 1 

- Records:Framingham State (6-7-1), Eastern Nazarene (4-6-5) 

- Location: Veterans Memorial Quincy, Mass. 

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • The Rams jumped out to the early advantage in the 8thminute when the Hemmingsen brothers teamed up when Karl Hemmingsen finished off a setup from Gustav for the 1-0 lead. 

  • About ten minutes later Arthur Santos Da Silva found the back of the net for what proved to be the difference in the game. 

  • Just before half Bryan Vargas scored to cut the Lions deficit to 2-1 but neither side would score again.  

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:  

  • Matheus Rodrigues made five stops in goal for the Rams while Erik Berg made one save for ENC.  

  • The Lions outshot the Rams 12-to-6 on the night while also getting called for 15 fouls to the Rams 11.

The Rams return to action on Friday when they head to Mass. Maritime for a MASCAC tilt.
