Worcester State Edges Men’s Soccer on Senior Day

Framingham, Mass. The Framingham State men's soccer was defeated by Worcester State by a score of 3-0 in MASCAC action Saturday afternoon in Framingham.  

Prior to the game the Rams honored the four seniors playing in their final season with the Rams: Cameron Lau (Swampscott, Mass.), Jeffson Malachie (Port-au Prince, Haiti), Karl. Hemmingsen (Copenhagen, Denmark) & Kunphel Sinha (Darjeeling, India).

- Records:Framingham State (5-7-1, 2-2 MASCAC), Worcester State (3-5-3, 1-3 MASCAC) 

- Location:Maple Street Field Framingham, Mass. 

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • The Lancers scored the lone frist half goal in the 16thminute when Mal Hawkins scored and unassisted tally. 

  • The visitors added to their lead in ght 74thminute when Tazir Kaba scored with helpers from Hawkins and Matthieu Bayonne.  

  • Worcester reached the final margin with a Brady Iovanni goal in the 85th minute. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • Andy Rodriguez made three saves in the shutout with for Worcester State.  

  • Adriel Moreno and Matheus Rodrigues made three stops splitting time in goal for the Rams.  

  • The Lancers outshot the Rams 22-to-9 including a 10-to-2 clip in the first half.

The Rams return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Eastern Nazarene for non-conference action slated for 7:30pm.
