Men’s Soccer Blanks MCLA in MASCAC Opener

Framingham, Mass. The Framingham State men's soccer team posted a 2-0 shutout win over MCLA in the MASCAC opener for both teams Saturday afternoon in Framingham.  

THE BASICS: 

- Score:  Framingham State 2, MCLA 0 

- Records:Framingham State (4-1, 1-0 MASCAC), MCLA (2-3, 0-1 MASCAC) 

- Location: Maple Street Field – Framingham, Mass. 

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • The Rams scored in the 31st minute when Jack Holt finished off a setup from Gustav Hemmingsen to take the 1-0 lead. 

  • The Rams doubled their lead when Kunphel Sinha assisted on Hemmingsen's score just over ten minutes later.  

  • Joseph Sturzo posted the shutout making two saves for the Rams.  

  • Ryan Taylor made four saves in the loss for the Trailblazers.  

  • The hosts held the advantage in shots 21-to-15 and corner kick opportunities 8-to-1 

UP NEXT: 

The Rams return to the field when they host Gordon on Tuesday at 4:30pm. The Trailblazers are off until Friday when they host MASCAC rival Mass Maritime at 6pm.
