Men’s Soccer Holds Off Suffolk in the Battle of the Rams

Framingham, Mass. The Framingham State men's soccer team scored the first two goals of the game and held off a surging Suffolk offense to earn the 2-1 victory Tuesday evening in Boston.  

THE BASICS: 

- Score:  Framingham State 2, Suffolk University 1 

- Records:Framingham State (3-1), Suffolk University (2-2-1) 

- Location: James A. Sartori Field – East Boston, Mass. 

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • The Framingham Rams took the first half lead in the 32ndminute when Kaio Santon Da Silva scored his team leading fourth goal of the season after being setup by Jack Holt. 

  • The visitors added an important insurance gaol in the 60thminute when Gustav Hemmingsen put one between the pipes with an assist going to Jeffson Malachie. 

  • Suffolk cut their defecit to one score in the 87thminute when Carter Van Buskirk scored but could not find the equalizer in the final minutes.  

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • Joseph Sturzo had another strong performance in net for the Rams making ten saves to earn his third win of the season.  

  • Nathan Harlow took the loss making five saves for Suffolk.  

  • The hosts held the advantage in shots 21-to-12. and corner kick opportunities 7-to-1
