Men’s Soccer Falls to Gordon in Season Opener

Framingham, Mass.- The Gordon College men's soccer team defeated Framingham State by a score of 5-0 Wednesday afternoon in Wenham.

THE BASICS:

- Score: Framingham State 0, Gordon College 5

- Records: Framingham State (0-1), Gordon College (1-0)

- Location: Brigham Complex – Wenham, Mass.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The Fighting Scots got on the board for the first time right at the 31-minute mark when Chase Gwynn finished off a pass from Luckson Dambo to take a 1-0 lead into the break.
• Gordon added to their lead in the 52^nd minute when Dambo scored with help from Benji Wright.
• The guests added three goals in the final 15 minutes to reach the final margin. In the 77^th minute George Coogan scored followed by Gwynn in the 84^th minute. Juilius Swaim tallied the final goal in the last minute of play. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Brody Veleber earned the shutout making one save on the afternoon.
• James Hartshorn took the loss making seven saves in the opener for the Rams.
• The Fighting Scots outshot the Rams by a 19-to-4 margin and were awarded 9 corner kicks to the Rams 0.
