2018 MASCAC Regular Season Champion Men's Soccer Earns Top Seed in MASCAC Tournament

Framingham, Mass. – The Framingham State University men's soccer team captured the 2018 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) regular season title and earned the top seed in this week's MASCAC Men's Soccer Tournament.         

The Rams, who captured their first regular season title since 2012, finished the 2018 regular season 12-5-2 overall and 5-0-2 in league play.  As the top seed, the Rams earn a first round bye and will host one semifinal on Friday night at 6 p.m. at Maple Street Field.  The Rams will host the winner of the quarterfinal between fourth seed Worcester State and fifth seed Westfield State which is being played on Tuesday night.

The Rams are led offensively this season by junior Bryce Nardizzi (Framingham, Mass.). Nardizzi has scored 15 goals with eight assists for 38 points. Junior Isaac DeSouza (Sao Paulo, Brazil) is second on the team in scoring with 10 goals and eight assists for 28 points.  Junior Corey Davidge (Blackstone, Mass.) has gone 10-4-2 in net for the Rams this season with a 1.09 GAA and 77 saves.

Rounding out the tournament field are third seed Salem State and sixth seed Fitchburg who meet in the other quarterfinal on Tuesday night. The winner of that game advances to face second seed Bridgewater State on Friday night in the other semifinal.

The tournament concludes on Sunday when the winners of the two semifinals meet at the highest remaining seed. The winner of the tournament receives the MASCAC's automatic bid to the 2018 NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Championship.
