Men’s Soccer Defeats Fitchburg; Clinches MASCAC Regular Season Title

Framingham, Mass.- The Framingham State men's soccer team shutout Fitchburg State by a score of 3-0 on Friday afternoon clinching the 2018 MASCAC Regular Season Title and earning the #1 seed in next weeks MASCAC Tournament.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The Rams got on the board in the 18thminute when Bryce Nardizzi (Framingham, Mass.) sent in a pass from Isaac De Souza (Sao Paulo, Brazil).
  • Framingham State got an insurance tally midway through the second when Ibrahim Kyeyune (Kampala, Uganda) found the back of the net with an assist from Nardizzi. 
  • Nardizzi added his team leading 15thgoal in the 73rdminute again with help from De Souza. 
  • Prior to the contest the Rams honored the six seniors playing in their final regular season game: Max Amoah (Dewu, Ghana); Bryan Reis (Keene, NH); Ryan Buchanon (Danvers, Mass.); Ian Plant (East Bridgewater, Mass.); Johance Liverpool (Arima, Trinidad); Ken Stahovish (Springfield, Mass.).

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

  • Sebastian Jaramillo (Dracut, Mass.) made eight stops in net for the Rams. 
  • Corey Davidge (Blackstone, Mass.) made two saves for his sixth shutout of the season for the Rams.  
  • The Rams outshot the Falcons 18-to-6.
  • The Falcons attempted 7 corner kicks to the Rams 4. 

UP NEXT:

  • The Falcons earn the #6 seed in the MASCAC Tournament and will travel to #3 seed Salem State on Tuesday, October 30that 7:00pm. 
  • The Rams earn the #1 seed and receive a bye to the semi-final round. They will host the winner of #4 Worcester & #5 Westfield on Friday, November 2ndat 6:00pm.
