Boston, Mass. – The Framingham State men's soccer played to a 1-1 tie at Emerson College Tuesday evening at Rotch Playground. The Lions are now 4-8-2, while the Rams move to 7-8-1

The Rams struck first in the 16th minute when Dan Hennessey (Lynn, Mass.) brought the ball to within the right post and crossed the pass off to Ken Stahovish (Springfield, Mass.) who put the first Rams goal into the corner past the diving reach of Kemp.

Sophomore Gavin Faucette (Oakland, Calif.) gave the Emerson men's soccer team life within the 78th minute of the second half as he booted in the 1-all equalizer on a penalty kick opportunity.

Emerson sent up 20 shots to Framingham State's 17 and also held the 4-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Between the two teams there were 22 fouls called, 11 going Emerson's way and 10 committed by Framingham State.

Freshman keeper David Kemp (London, England) manned the net through all 110 minutes and allowed one goal and turned away five shots.

In net for the Rams was Josh Arno (Natick, Mass.), who came away with eight saves and allowed one goal within the full 110 minutes.

Both Emerson and Framingham State came up empty handed within the first overtime despite the Rams dinging a shot off the crossbar within the final seconds to hold the score at 1-1 and send the game into another 10 minutes.

Emerson wraps up the week with a NEWMAC road tilt at Wheaton (Mass.) on Saturday, October 21 that is slated for a 2:00 p.m. start. Framingham State returns home on Saturday, October 21 and will host MASCAC foe Worcester State at 7:00 p.m.
