Framingham, Mass. –The Dean College men's soccer team remains undefeated as they edge Framingham State 2-1 in non-conference action Tuesday afternoon in Framingham. With the win the Bulldogs are now 9-0-2 while the Rams even up at 7-7.

The visitors scored two quick goals in the opening frame to take a 2-0 lead but the Rams were able to cut the deficit to 2-1 shortly after but would never get any closer.

In the 9th minute Alex Gordonbeck (Martha's Vineyard, Mass.) scored when he deflected a corner from Pepe Vieira (Brockton, Mass.) into the net. Just under two minutes later Viera scored on long strike from about 30 yards after a give-and-go play with Santiago Cardona (Revere, Mass.).

The Rams answered in the 17th minute when Ken Stahovish (Springfield, Mass.) headed in a free kick from Justin Hansen (Levittown, NY) to cut the visitors advantage to 2-1.

The Rams had a few chances to tie the game in regulation but couldn't seem to find the frame. Their best chance came with just under five minutes to play when a Rams player attempted to chip a shot over the crashing goalkeeper but the shot slid just over the crossbar.

Nathan Silveria (East Providence, RI) made 6 stops in net for Dean. Corey Davidge (Blackstone, Mass.) turned away 4 shots before giving way to senior Josh Arno (Natick, Mass.) who also stopped 4 shots in the second frame.

The Bulldogs outshot the Rams 20-to-14 while taking 4 corners to the Rams 2.

The Rams return to action on Friday, October 13th when they travel to Mass Maritime for MASCAC action. The Bulldogs travel to Southern Vermont on Saturday, October 14th.
