#16 Springfield Outlasts Men’s Soccer; 2-0

Framingham, Mass. – The Springfield College Pride men's soccer team, ranked sixteenth nationally by d3soccer.com, defeated Framingham State by a score of 2-0 Tuesday afternoon at Maple Street Field.

With the win the Pride remain undefeated and move to 9-0 on the season. The Rams even up at 6-6.

The Pride scored their lone first half goal in the 31st minute when Dexter Tenn (South Windsor, Conn.) gathered a pass across the box from Curtis Bolduc (South Windsor, Conn.) and sent into an open net.

The Pride added an insurance goal in the 62nd minute when Leland Malloy (Bethlehem, Conn.) headed a corner from Danny Murphy (Old Saybrook, Conn.).

The Rams best chance to score came with about 15 minutes left to play when Johance Liverpool (Arima, Trinidad) headed a ball that was saved by a leaping Springfield goalkeeper.

The visitors held a 31-to-10 advantage in shots while taking 6 corners kicks to the Rams 4.

Stewart Frank (Pittsford, NY) made five stops in the win for the Pride before giving way to Marvyn Dorchin (Belmont, Mass.). Corey Davidge (Blackstone, Mass.) turned away 14 shots in net for the Rams before giving way to Dennis Siaw (Accra, Ghana).

The Rams return to action on Saturday, October 7th when they host MCLA in a MASCAC matchup. The Pride travel to MIT for NEWMAC action on the same day.
