Salem, Mass. – The Framingham State University men's soccer team dropped a 2-1 double overtime decision at Salem State University this afternoon in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action at Alumni Field.

Both teams entered the game unbeaten in the MASCAC and with the victory the Vikings improve to 5-3 on the season and 3-0 in the league. The Rams are now 6-5 on the year and 2-1 in the MASCAC.

Nahuel Aligbay (Leominster, Mass.) scored the game-winner with less than five minutes remaining in the second overtime.  He took a pass from Mayele Malango (Lowell, Mass.) and lofted a shot from 10 yards out that went over the Ram keeper and into the back of the net.

The Vikings had taken a 1-0 lead in the 17th minute of play on a tally by Malango.  The Rams had a chance to tie the game in the 24th minute when Justin Moniz (Fall River, Mass.) deflected a shot off the cross bar that bounced to Ken Stahovish (Springfield, Mass.).  Stahovish's bid sailed over the crossbar keeping the game 1-0.

Stahovish finally put the Rams on the board in the 61st minute when he headed home a pass from Ben Britton (Peabody, Mass.).

The Rams held an 11-6 edge in shots for the game, but the Vikings held a 5-1 edge in shots in the extra sessions.  Senior Josh Arno (Natick, Mass.) took the loss for the Rams making two saves, while Chris Jimenez earned the win for the Vikings while making four stops.

The Rams are back in action on Tuesday when they host Springfield in a non-league game beginning at 4 p.m.
