Men’s Soccer Charges Through Lasell in Non-Conference Tilt

Framingham, Mass. – The Framingham State University men' soccer team defeated Lasell College by a score of 3-0 in non-conference action Monday afternoon at Maple Street Field.  The Rams improve to 5-4 on the season, while the Lasers fall to 2-7 overall.

The Rams got on the board with the lone goal of the first half when Leo Sena (Framingham, Mass.) sent a screamer from roughly 35 yards into the top right part of the frame.

The Rams came out of the break with two quick tallies. In the 48^th minute Ben Britton (Peabody, Mass.) tapped in a header from Tyler Treichler (Attleboro, Mass.) off a corner kick from Giovanni Green (Montego Bay, Jamaica).  Less than thirty seconds later Isaac De Souza (Sao Paulo, Brazil) scored his MASCAC leading 10^th goal with an assist from Ken Stahovish (Springfield, Mass.).

The Lasers had a chance to get on the board in the 76^th minute when a Rams foul set up a direct kick just outside of the box but Kenan Omerbasic's (Windsor Locks, Conn.) shot hit the cross bar and went out of play.

Jesse Guillette (Brimfield, Mass.) earned the win making three stops before giving way to Maxwell Amoah (Dewu, Ghana) 

Lasell goalkeeper Jackson Burhans (Berlin, NY) registered two saves before giving way to Matteo Cugno (Medford, Mass.).

The Rams held a 21-to-12 shot advantage for the game as well as a 8-to-3 edge in corner kicks.

The Rams return to action on Wednesday, September 27^th when they host Pine Manor at 7:00 p.m. at Maple Street Field.  Lasell travels to Regis on Saturday, September 30^th.
