Men’s Soccer Falls at Home to RIC

Framingham, Mass.- The Framingham State men's soccer team dropped a non-conference matchup with Rhode Island College by a score of 5-1 Wednesday afternoon in Framingham. With the win the Anchormen improve to 5-2 while the Rams slip to 3-4.

The Anchormen got on the board in eleventh minute when Kolma Dogbey (Providence, RI) headed in a free kick from Thomas Wampler (Johnstown, RI). RIC added to their tally with two quick goals. In the 24th minute Elimane Seye (Providence, RI) scored with Dan Monteiro (Pawtuket, RI) assisting. Just about 90 seconds later Wampler sent a free kick in from roughly 25 yards that was headed on net by Cooper Ferreira (Westerly, RI). The visitors took a 4-0 lead into the break after Monteiro buried a free kick from 20 yards in the final minute of the period.

RIC extended their lead to five scores early in the second frame when Dogbey tallied his second of the day with an assist coming again from Wampler.

The Rams got on the board in the 77th minute when Daniel Campos (Framingham, Mass.) scored his first of the season with an assist coming from Simon Appiah (Worcester, Mass.)

Chris Moura (Rumford, RI) made six saves in net for RIC before giving way to Alex LaBreche (Lincoln, RI) for the final 18 minutes. Corey Davidge (Blackstone, Mass.) made four saves in the first half for the Rams before being relieved by Josh Arno (Natick, Mass.) for the final 45 minutes of work.

The Rams return to action on Saturday, September 24th when they travel to Worcester State for a noon matchup. The Anchormen return to the pitch on the same day when they travel to UMass. Boston for a 7:00 p.m. start
