MIT Shutout Men’s Soccer 1-0

Framingham, Mass.- The Framingham State men's soccer team fell to MIT by a score of 1-0 in non-conference action Saturday afternoon in Framingham. With the win the Engineers improve to 2-1 while the Rams fall to 1-3.

MIT scored the lone goal of the game in the 41st minute when Gregory Hui (Alameda, CA) headed a ball towards the goal that deflected off a Rams defender and into the open net.

The Rams best chance to score came in the opening minutes of the contest when Ken Stahovish's  (Springfield, Mass.) shot was stopped right in front of goal line by a sliding MIT defender.

MIT had a chance to extend their lead in the final ten minutes but Rams keeper Josh Arno (Natick, Mass.) made a diving save on a one-time shot.

Arno made 11 saves in net for the Rams while Cole Hoffer (Tuscon, AZ) made two saves in the shutout win for MIT.

The Engineers outshot the Rams 25-to-6 in the contest while being called for 16 fouls to the Rams 13.

The Rams return action on Tuesday, September 13th when the travel to Curry. The Engineers host Roger Williams on Wednesday, September 14th.
