67 Rams Named to Fall 2014 MASCAC All-Academic Team

Westfield, Mass. - A total of 737 student-athletes, including 67 from Framingham State University, have been honored by the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference with selection to the league’s Fall 2014 All-Academic Team as announced earlier today by MASCAC Commissioner Angela Baumann.

Framingham, Mass. – Framingham State University junior Cory Cardeiro (Fall River, MA) scored twice and hit the game winner six minutes and fifty seven seconds into the first overtime to lead the Rams to a win on senior day over Westfield State. With the win the Rams improve to 4-11-2 and 3-3-1 in the conference and have clinched a spot in the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) tournament. The Owls fall to 3-11-3 and 2-4-1 in the MASCAC.

Maritime to a 2-0 victory over the host Framingham State Saturday afternoon. With the victory the Buccaneers improves to 6-7-1 (3-2-1 MASCAC) and the Rams fall to 4-10-2 (2-3-1 MASCAC).

Framingham, Mass. – MIT freshman Joshua Wilson (West Chester, PA/ Episcopal) broke a 1-1 tie in the 36th minute leading the MIT Engineers past the host Framingham State Rams 2-1 in a non-conference match-up under the lights at Maple St. field Tuesday night. The game was pushed up a day due to a poor weather forecast the rest of the week. With the victory the Engineers improve to 6-4-4 on the season while the Rams fall to 4-9-2.

North Adams, MA- The MCLA Trailblazers and Framingham State men’s soccer programs went toe to toe for 110 minutes and drew 1-1 this afternoon at Shewcraft field in a battle of two of the top teams in the MASCAC. Both teams are now 2-1-1 in league play. Framingham is 4-6-2 overall while MCLA is 6-5-1 on the season.

Framingham, Mass. – Framingham State University senior Bryan DaSilva (Milford, MA) sent a chipshot from 30 yards, over the head of the Vikings keeper to break a 1-1 tie with Salem State in men’s soccer MASCAC action Saturday afternoon at Maple St. Field. DaSilva was set up by a long pass from junior Cory Cardeiro (Fall River, MA/ BMC Durfee) who was credited with an assist on the game winner.
