Suffolk Shuts Out Men’s Ice Hockey in Battle of the Rams

East Boston, Mass. – Suffolk University defeated Framingham State 5-0 in non-conference men's ice hockey action on Tuesday evening at Porrazzo Skating Rink. The Rams of Suffolk used a balanced attack and strong goaltending to secure the shutout victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

1st Period: 

  • A tightly contested first period saw no goals as both teams struggled to find the back of the net despite quality opportunities. 

2nd Period: 

  • 04:14 – Suffolk opened the scoring on the power play as Jake Grace netted the first goal, assisted by Jack Robinson and Michael McEachern. 

  • 18:31 – Jack Kircher extended Suffolk's lead with an even-strength goal off assists from Joe O'Brien and Tyler Borys, making it 2-0 heading into the final frame. 

3rd Period: 

  • 01:30 – Matt Pimental added to the lead early, finishing a play set up by Grace and Will MacNeil. 

  • 15:09 – Suffolk's Joe O'Brien found the back of the net, with assists from Josh Milso and Scott McManus, making it 4-0. 

  • 15:31 – Just 22 seconds later, Daniel McKiernan capped off the scoring spree with a goal assisted by Phil Feinberg and Nolan Leonard, sealing the 5-0 victory.
