Ice Hockey Falls 3-1 to Conference Leader Plymouth State

Plymouth, NH - The Framingham State University ice hockey team was defeated 3-1 by MASCAC leader Plymouth State University this evening in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action.

-Records: Framingham State (8-13-2, 8-9-2 MASCAC), Plymouth State (19-2-2, 16-1-2MASCAC)

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • The Panthers grabbed a 1-0 lead just over four minutes into the game after a goal from Payton Schaly. 

  • Eight minutes into the second, the Panthers extended the lead to 2-0. The Rams received a goal from Nathan Gines off feeds from Robert Bernier and Tyler Westfall to close the gap to 2-1 with just under three to go in the second. 

  • The Panthers added a shorthanded goal in the closing seconds of the frame to reach the final margin. 

  • Trevor Stenberg took the loss in net for the Rams but made 42 saves. 

  • Plymouth held a 45-24 edge in shots for the game, while the Rams went 0-for-5 with the man advantage.
