UMass Dartmouth Shoots Past Ice Hockey

New Bedford, Mass. - The Framingham State University ice hockey team was defeated 9-2 by UMass Dartmouth this evening in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action at Hetland Arena. 

THE BASICS: 

-Scores:  Umass Dartmouth 9, Framingham State 2 

-Records: Framingham State (7-11, 7-8-0 MASCAC), UMass Dartmouth (12-7-0, 10-5-0 MASCAC) 

- Location: Hetland Arena New Bedford, Mass.         

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • The Corsairs jumped out to a 2-0 lead after one period after a pair of goals from Michael Mania. 

  • The Corsairs added four more in the second before the Rams got on the board. Brady Rossbach converted off a pass from Brent Scott at 11:20. The Corsairs would add one more in the frame and led 7-1 after two. 

  • UMass Dartmouth added two more in the third and Scott tallied a power play goal for the Rams to reach the final margin. 

  • Trevor Stenberg took the loss in net for the Rams making 12 saves, while Alex Timmons made 10 saves in 33 minutes of work. 

  • The Corsairs held a 31-21 edge in shots for the game. The Rams were 1-of-8 with the man advantage, while the Corsairs went 3-of-9 on the power play.
