Ice Hockey Shoots Past Fitchburg State 5-1

Fitchburg, Mass. - The Framingham State University ice hockey team received goals from five different players as the Rams defeated Fitchburg State University 5-1 this evening in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action at the Wallace Civic Center. 

THE BASICS: 

-Scores:  Framingham State 5, Fitchburg State 1 

-Records: Framingham State (7-10, 7-7-0 MASCAC), Fitchburg State (9-7-2, 8-4-2 MASCAC) 

- Location: Wallace Civic Center Fitchburg, Mass.         

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • The Rams got on the board first when Johnny Baker converted off a feed from Matthew Nuzzolilo at 13:51 in the first. 

  • The Rams doubled the advantage when Elijah Slagter found the back of the net off a pass from Sam Larking just 43 seconds into the second period. 

  • The game remained 2-0 in favor of the Rams until the Falcons got on the board just over five minutes into the final stanza. 

  • After the Falcon goal, the Rams tacked on three more to secure the victory. Tyler Westfall scored off an assist from Robert Bernier at 8:55. Kaleb Kinskey followed with a marker off an assist from Caleb Dusek. Ashton Collazo capped the scoring for the Rams when he scored off feeds from Baker and Nuzzolilo at 16:23. 

  • Trevor Stenberg earned the victory in net for the Rams making 37 saves.
