MCLA Downs Ice Hockey 2-1

North Adams, Mass. - The Framingham State University ice hockey team jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first period, MCLA tallied the final two goals of the game as the Trailblazers defeated the Rams 2-1 this evening in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action at Foote Vietnam Veterans Memorial Rink.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • Patrick Colgan got the Rams on the board first when he buried an unassisted goal at 16:31 of the first period. 

  • MCLA tied the game with a power play goal from Luke Rhoss six minutes into the second. 

  • The game remained tied until Sean Schifferl tallied a shorthanded goal for the Trailblazers with just over five minutes remaining in the third. 

  • Trevor Stenberg took the loss between the pipes for the Rams making 25 stops. 

  •  The Rams held a 61-27 edge in shots for the game and were 0-for-5 on the power play, while the Trailblazers were 1-of-2 with the man advantage.

The Rams are back in action on Thursday when they travel to Fitchburg State.
