Conference Leader Plymouth State Downs Ice Hockey

Framingham, Mass. - The Framingham State University ice hockey team was defeated 7-2 this evening by conference leader Plymouth State in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action at Loring Arena. 

THE BASICS: 

-Scores:  Plymuth State 7, Framingham State 2 

-Records: Framingham State (6-9, 6-6-0 MASCAC), Plymouth State (13-1-2, 10-0-2 MASCAC) 

- Location: Loring Arena Framingham, Mass.         

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • After a scoreless first period, the Panthers got on the board with a pair of goals in the first six minutes of the second period. Cameron Patton buried a rebound into the back of the net 2:07 in and Connor Tait followed with a goal at 5:36. 

  • The Panthers pushed the lead to 3-0 on a tally by Will Pray with just under seven to play, but the Rams closed the frame with a pair of goals closing the gap to 3-2. 

  • Brent Scott struck first for the Rams off feeds from Storm Davis and Johnny Baker and Patrick Colgan followed with a power play goal off a feed from Ashton Collazo. 

  • The Panthers tallied four goals in the final period including two from Patrick O'Connell to reach the final margin. 

  • The Panthers held a 51-34 edge in shots for the game and converted 2-of-5 power plays, while the Rams went 1-for-8 with the man advantage.
