Anna Maria Holds Off Ice Hockey for 5-2 Win

Auburn, Mass. - The Framingham State University ice hockey team was defeated 5-2 this evening by Anna Maria College in non-conference action at Horgan Arena. 

THE BASICS: 

-Scores:  Anna Maria 5, Framingham State 2 

-Records: Framingham State (4-8), Anna Maria (10-6) 

- Location: Horgan Arena Auburn, Mass.         

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • The Amcats jumped out to a 3-0 lead after one period and extended the lead to 4-0 just over a minute into the third period. 

  • Brent Scott found the back of the net unassisted for the Rams just under seven minutes into the third closing the gap to 4-1. 

  • Jake Barcelou added an unassisted power play tally midway through the frame to pull the Rams withing two, but a late goal by the Amcats accounted for the final score. 

  • Alex Timmons took the loss in net for the Rams, but made 35 saves. 

  • The Rams were 1-for3 with the man advantage in the game, while the Amcats went 1-of-5 on the power play.

The Rams are back in action on Thursday when they travel to Salem State at 7 p.m.
