Ice Hockey Falls To UMass Dartmouth 2-1

Framingham, Mass. - The Framingham State University ice hockey team was defeated 2-1 this evening by UMass Dartmouth in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action this evening at Loring Arena.

-Records: Framingham State (4-7, 4-5 MASCAC), UMass Dartmouth (6-6, 4-4 MASCAC) 

- Location: Loring Arena Framingham, Mass.         

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • After a scoreless first period, the Rams got on the board first on an unassisted power play tally from Matthew Nuzzililo. Nuzzililo took possession in defensive zone and carried the puck down the right side and fired off a shot into the back of the net. 

  • The Corsairs tied the game with a power play goal of their own with under two to play in the second as Tyler Stewart slapped home the rebound off his own miss. 

  • UMass Dartmouth tallied the only goal of the third period to secure the come from behind victory. Collin Patterson converted off feeds from Alex Walker and Cade Hanley with just over six minutes remaining in the game. 

  • The Rams held a slim 39-34 advantage in shots, while the Corsairs converted on 1-of-4 with the man advantage and the Rams capitalized on just 1-of-7 power play opportunities. 

  • Daniel Davidson finished the game with 38 saves for the Corsairs, while Trevor Stenberg made 32 stops for the Rams.
