Ice Hockey Blanks Worcester to Head into Break with Three Straight Wins

Worcester, Mass. The Framingham State's men's ice hockey team scored two third period goals to defeat Worcester State 2-0 in MASCAC play Thursday evening in Worcester.  

THE BASICS: 

- Score: Framingham State 2, Worcester State 0 

- Records: Framingham State (4-6, 4-4 MASCAC), Worcester State (3-7, 3-5 MASCAC) 

- Location: Fidelity Bank Ice Center  Worcester, Mass. 

HOW IT HAPPENED:   

  • The first two periods remained goalless, setting the stage for an intense final frame.

  • Framingham State broke the deadlock with a goal by Robert Bernier at the 16-minute mark, scoring even-strength and giving his team the much-needed lead.  

  • The momentum continued for Framingham as Brady Rossbach found the back of the net at 18:40, assisted by Jake Barcelou, securing a 2-0 lead. 

  • Framingham's goaltender, Trevor Stenberg, was the star of the night, standing tall between the pipes and making 36 saves to earn the shutout victory.  

  • On the opposing side, Worcester State's Jakub Kubik faced a barrage of shots, making 27 saves but couldn't prevent the Framingham onslaught. 

  • The game featured disciplined play despite a few penalties. Framingham managed to capitalize on the power play, going 1-1, while Worcester State couldn't convert on either of their opportunities.
