Last Second Goal Forces Overtime; Ice Hockey Falls to Plymouth 3-2

Plymouth, NH  Framingham State's Matthew Nuzzolilo tied the game at two with three seconds left in regulation to send the Rams to overtime with nationally ranked Plymouth State. The Panthers would score in the final minute of overtime to earn the 3-2 MASCAC win.  

THE BASICS: 

- Score: Plymouth State 3, Framingham State 2 (OT) 

- Records: Framingham State (1-5, 1-4 MASCAC), Plymouth State (5-1-2, 3-0-2 MASCAC) 

- Location: Hanaway Rink Plymouth, NH 

HOW IT HAPPENED:  

  • The Panthers struck first midway through the first when Will Redick scored with assists from Anton Jelvik and Connor Tait. 

  • The Rams answered in the final minute of the period when Kaleb Kinskey scored his first of the year with assists from Walker Smith and Patrick Colgan.  

  • Plymouth scored the lone second period goal when Redick and Jelvik teamed up again on the power play. 

  • The Rams answered early in the third when Ashton Collazo finished off a Robert Bernier setup to knot the game at two.  

  • With just under two minutes to play the Panthers looked to find the difference maker when Josh Kagan scored and unassisted goal but with the goalie pulled the Rams find the equalizer in the final ticks. 

  • With just 32 seconds to play in OT Jelvik convereted on the 2-on-1 to send the hosts to the win. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • Brandon Shantz made 20 saves in the win for Plymouth while Liam Kilgallen turned away 38 shots in net for the Rams.  

  • The Rams were 0-for-4 on the power play while the Panthers were 2-for-7 on the man advantage.

The Rams return to the ice on Tuesday when they travel to Franklin Pierce for non-league play at 7:30pm.
