Ice Hockey Falls to Westfield State 6-4

Westfield, Mass. - The Framingham State University ice hockey team suffered a 6-4 loss this evening to Westfield State University in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action this evening at Amelia Park. 

THE BASICS: 

-Scores:  Westfield State 6, Framingham State 4 

-Records: Framingham State (1-4, 1-3 MASCAC), Westfield State (3-1-1, 1-1-1 MASCAC) 

- Location: Amelia Park Westfield, Mass.         

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • The Owls jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period before Cameron Lindsay tallied a power play goal for the Rams closing the gap to 2-1. Westfield added another marker before Robert Bernier found the back of the net making the score 3-2 after one. 

  • The Rams tied the game on a tally by Braeden Kennedy, before the Owls tallied two goals to lead 5-3 after two. 

  • The Rams struck first in the third and the Owls added a late goal to reach the final margin. 

  • Trevor Stenberg made 23 saves for the Rams in the contest, while Kennedy finished with a pair of goals.

The Rams are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Plymouth State for a 6 p.m. game.
