MASCAC Releases Ice Hockey Preseason Poll

Framingham, Mass.– The Framingham State ice hockey team was predicted to finish 7th in the MASCAC Men's Ice Hockey Championship as voted on by the coaches from around the conference. Last year's season was cancelled due to the pandemic. 

The Rams are led by team captain Brian Kozek (Chicago, IL) who played in 25 games in 2019-20. Also back for FSU are assistant captains Trevor Lewandoski (Newbury, OHand Jacob Garman (Anchorage, AK). 

Plymouth State, the 2019-20 MASCAC Champions have been picked to win the 2021-22 MASCAC Men's Ice Hockey Championship. The Panthers earned six of the seven first place votes for 36 points. 

Sitting in second place is Fitchburg State with 29 points. Landing in third with 28 points and the final first place vote is UMass Dartmouth. Westfield State is fourth with 20 points followed in fifth with 17 points by Salem State.  

Rounding out the 2021-22 preseason poll are Worcester State and Framingham State in sixth and seventh, respectively.  

The Rams open up their 2021-22 season at Loring Arena on Thursday, November 4th when they host Salem State in MASCAC action slated for 7:40pm.
