58 Rams Named to Spring 2016 MASCAC All-Academic Team

Westfield, Mass. - A total of 855 student-athletes, including 58 from Framingham State University, have been honored by the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) with selection to the league’s Spring 2016 All-Academic Team as announced earlier this week by MASCAC Commissioner Angela Baumann.

Framingham, Mass. – Framingham State University Director of Athletic Tom Kelley is pleased to announce the hiring of Guy Angers as the Rams head men’s ice hockey coach. Angers is making a return to the Rams after serving as the head coach from 1990-96.

Men’s Ice Hockey Falls Short on Senior Night

Framingham, Mass.- The Framingham State men’s ice hockey team lost to visiting Salem State by a score of 4-2 in MASCAC action Saturday evening at Loring Arena. With the win the Vikings improve to 19-5 and 14-2 in the MASCAC. The Rams slip to 5-18-1 and 4-12-1 in league play. However, with Worcester State’s loss this evening the Rams have clinched a spot in the MASCAC tournament that begins next weekend.

Salem, Mass. -- Andrew Bettencourt (Riverside, RI) scored twice and Brandon Platt (Pittsburgh, PA) led the Vikings with four points as the Vikings earned a 5-0 victory over the Framingham State Rams in MASCAC action on Thursday night at Rockett Arena. Salem State improves to 13-5 on the season and 9-2 in the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference while the Rams drop to 3-13-1 and 2-8-1 in the MASCAC.

Framingham, Mass.- The Framingham State men’s ice hockey dropped a Massachusetts Athletic Collegiate Athletic Conference matchup to visiting Westfield State 6-1 Saturday afternoon in Framingham. The win moves the Owls to 11-7 and 6-5 in the MASCAC. The Rams fall to 3-12-1 and 2-7-1 in the league.
