Men’s Basketball Falls to Bridgewater State

Framingham, Mass. - The Framingham State University men's basketball team was defeated 90-60 by Bridgewater State University this evening in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action at Logan Gymnasium.   

THE BASICS:

- Records: Framingham State (5-16, 0-8 MASCAC), Bridgewater State (10-10, 6-2 MASCAC)

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • The Rams were led in the game by 16 points and four rebounds from JD Okafor, while Kyle Philistin finished the game with 12 points, three boards and two assists. 

  • Duane Mason Jr chipped in with 10 points and six rebounds, while Jahden Erold and Korbin Gann tallied eight points apiece. Erold also grabbed seven boards in the game. 

  • The Bears were led by 23 points, three rebounds and four assists from Precious Okoh, while Josh Campbell chipped in with 15 points and five boards off the bench. 

  • Justin Parsons finished the night with 11 points, while Emerson Halbleib finished with 10 and seven rebounds. 

  • The Bears opened the game with a 7-0 run and led 17-4 after a Josh Campbell layup with 14:32 on the clock. 

  • The Rams countered with an 11-2 capped by a Jahden Erold layup to close the gap to 19-15 with just over eight to play in the half. The Bears responded with seven straight points pushing the lead back to 11 with 7:04 to play.  

  • An Ivan Nyantenji three pulled the Rams back within seven (28-21), but the Bears scored the final ten points of the half taking a 38-21 lead into the locker room.  

  • Kyle Philistin drilled a three with 18:24 on the clock in the second to close the gap to 40-26, but that was as close as the Rams would get in the second half as the Bears built the lead to as many as 31.
