Men's Basketball Falls to Salem State 86-73

Framingham, Mass. - The Framingham State University men's basketball team returned to action tonight and were defeated at home 86-73 by Salem State in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action at Logan Gymnasium.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • The Rams saw a trio of players tally double figures led by 21 points from Joshua Saint Jean. Saint Jean connected on 7-of-11 from the floor and grabbed eight boards with two assists. 

  • Harrison Boadu came off the bench to score 13 points with four rebounds, while Tyrell Staples-Santos added 10 points on 3-of-6 from the field. JD Okafor chipped in with seven points and nine boards. 

  • The Vikings were paced by 25 points on 11-of-15 from the floor by Michael Makiej, while LJ Hicks chipped in with 20 points, six rebounds and four assists. 

  • Jaden Castillo tallied 18 points for the Vikings on 6-of-8 from the floor. 

  • The Rams led 12-10 after a Saint Jean bucket just over six minutes into the game, but the Vikings responded with a 12-0 run over the next six minutes to take a 22-12 lead. 

  • The Rams closed the gap to eight (24-16) on a pair of Staples-Santos free throws, but the Vikings pushed lead to 33-18 before taking a 44-29 lead into the half. 

  • The Vikings maintained the advantage throughout the second half and secured the league victory. 

  • The Rams shot 42% from the floor in the game and 42% from behind the arc, while the Vikings connected on 55% of their shots from the floor and 47% from three.
