Men's Basketball Falls to Eastern Nazarene to Close the First Semester

Quincy, Mass. - The Framingham State University men's basketball team closed first semester action with a 97-92 loss at Eastern Nazarene College this evening in non-conference action at Lahue Physical Education Center.   

THE BASICS:

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • Eastern Nazarene jumped out to an early 24-13 lead midway through the first half and used a 7-0 run to extend the lead to 45-31 with just under three to play in the first. 

  • The Rams answered with a 7-0 spurt of their own to close the first half and head to the locker room trailing 45-38. 

  • Eastern Nazarene pushed the lead to as many as 20 in the second half, before the Rams chipped away closing the gap to 91-88 after back-to-back threes from Adonis Vashon and Kyle Philistin with 44 seconds left on the clock. 

  • Eastern Nazarene pushed the lead back to seven with 15 seconds to play, but a pair of Philistin free throws and a Vashon layup closed the gap to 95-92 with three seconds on the clock.  

  • The Rams were forced to foul and Eastern Nazarene sank a pair of free throws to secure the victory. 

  • The Rams were paced in the game by 24 points on 8-of-14 from the floor from Philistin, while Jonathan Noel, Joshua Saint Jean and Vashon finished the game with 17 points apiece.
