Men’s Basketball Battles Past Me.-Fort Kent 68-62

Northfield, VT - The Framingham State University men's basketball team used an 8-0 run midway through the second half to take the lead for good as the Rams defeated Maine-Fort Kent 68-62 this afternoon in the consolation game of the Ed Hockenbury Classic hosted by Norwich University.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • In a game that saw 16 ties and eight lead changes, the Rams used an 8-0 run in the second half taking the lead for good. Tied 36-36 just over four minutes into the second half, the Rams used the spurt capped by a Kyle Philistin layup to take a 44-36 lead with 13:29 on the clock. After that point, the Rams never trailed again. 

  • Jonathan Noel paced the Rams with a team-best 21 points on 9-of-16 from the floor to go along with six boards and three steals. 

  • Adonis Vashon finished the game with 19 points as he connected on 6-of-14 from the floor and added five boards, an assist, two steals and two blocks. 

  • Philistin finished the game with ten points and five boards for the Rams to go along with a steal and a block.
