Dean Holds Off Late Surge from Men's Basketball for 80-74 Victory

Framingham, Mass. - The Framingham State University men's basketball team rallied from as many as 18 down in the second half to tie the game in the final minutes, but Dean College was able to hold on for an 80-74 victory this evening in non-conference action at Logan Gymnasium.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • The Rams struggled from the field in the first half shooting just 18%, but only trailed 34-20 at the half. 

  • Dean scored the first four points of the second half taking their largest lead of the game 38-20, but the Rams chipped away at the lead closing the gap to five (47-42) on an Adonis Vashon layup with just over 14 to play. 

  • The Rams continued to chip away at the lead and tied the game 66-66 on a pair of Josh Saint Jean free throws and again at 68-68 on a Saint Jean layup with 3:40 on the clock. 

  • Dean scored four straight taking a 72-68 advantage with just over two on the clock. The Rams closed the gap to two on a pair of occasions in the final two minutes, but the Bulldogs were able to hold on for the victory as they went 4-for-4 from the line in the final minute. 

  • The Rams were paced by a double double from Saint Jean, who tallied a team-best 21 points with 10 boards. 

  • Harrison Boadu came off the bench to score 20 points for the Rams as he connected on 8-of-12 from the floor. 

  • Dean was led by 21 points from AJ Weston, while Moussa Berette added 16.
