Men’s Basketball Downed by New England College

Framingham, Mass. - The Framingham State University men's basketball team led by ten early, but New England College rallied for a 72-63 victory over the Rams this afternoon in non-conference action at Logan Gymnasium.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • The Rams struggled from the floor in the opening half but led 18-8 after a pair of Duane Mason free throws with just under 13 on the clock. 

  • New England College used an 18-2 run to close the gap and open up a 26-20 lead with just over six to play. The Rams closed the gap to three on multiple occasions, but the Pilgrims led 37-30 at the half. 

  • The Pilgrim maintained the lead throughout the second half and led by as many as 16 in route to the victory. 

  • Jonathan Noel paced the Rams with 22 points. Noel connected on 8-of-11 from the floor and added six boards and three steals. 

  • Kyle Philistin finished the game with 12 points and seven rebounds for the Rams, while Harrison Boadu chipped in with eight off the bench and Duane Mason Jr added seven.  

  • The Rams shot 29% from the floor for game and just 13% from behind the arc, while NEC connected on 43% of their offerings and 25% from three. 

  • Alex Williams finished with 18 points and 13 rebounds for the Pilgrims, while Kyle Inglis and Nick Gomeau added 15 apiece.
