Strong Second Half Propels Men's Basketball Past VT-Lyndon 97-91

Lyndon, VT - The Framingham State University men's basketball team broke into the win column this evening as they erased a three point half time deficit and tallied 56 second half points er route to a 97-91 victory over host Vermont State Lyndon this evening at the Vermont State Tip-Off Classic.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • The Rams trailed 44-41 at the half and started the second stanza with a 10-3 run taking a 51-47 lead with just over 17 to play. The Rams maintained the lead and led by 10 on a Kyle Philistin layup midway through the second half. 

  • Lyndon closed the gap to four points on several occasions late in the second half, but that was as close as they would get as the Rams were able to hold and secure their first victory of the season.   

  • Philistin paced the Rams in the game with 29 points. Philistin connected on 11-of-15 from the floor and added five boards, three assists and seven steals. 

  • Adonis Vashon chipped in with 17 points, eight boards and three assists, while Jonathan Noel finished the game with 14 points and four boards. 

  • Diego Ledesma added 10 points and six boards off the bench, while Bryan Thompson finished the game with eight points, five boards and four assists.
