Men's Basketball Falls to Tufts at Second Annual BCCC

Boston, Mass. - The Framingham State University men's basketball team was defeated 77-39 by Tufts University this evening in one game of the Second Annual Black Collegiate Coaches Classic hosted by UMass Boston.    

THE BASICS:

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • The Rams were led offensively by 10 points from JD Okafor who connected on 3-of-7 from the floor, while Julius Goines chipped in with nine points and six rebounds. 

  • Tevin Charles chipped in with five points, while Aveon Woods added five off the bench. 

  • Tufts was led by 15 points and four rebounds from Dylan Thoerner, while Tyler Aronson added 14 and two steals. 

  • Trumann Gettings finished the game with a double double of 10 points and 11 boards. 

  • The BCCC was established to showcase black head coaches in the Division III coaching ranks, which as of today stand at seven in the state of Massachusetts. Along with the all black head coaches, the two contests also feature two officiating crews that consist entirely of officials of color.
