Men's Basketball Closes Regular Season with Loss to Worcester State

Worcester, Mass. - The Framingham State University men's basketball team saw their regular season come to a close this afternoon with a 94-49 loss to Worcester State in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action.

 

THE BASICS:

- Records: Framingham State (3-21, 1-11 MASCAC), Worcester State (14-11, 9-4 MASCAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:  

  • The Lancers rattled off an 11-0 run capped by a pair of Tyler Spencer three pointers to take the early lead
  • After a slow start, the Rams used a pair of three pointers from Ivan Nyantenji and Tarik Rivers to head to the locker room trailing 47-22.
  • The second half opened with baskets by both teams to push the score 51-27 before the Lancers extended the lead on threes from Zion Hendrix, Spencer, and Sam Dion.

 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • Deshaun Lowery chipped in with eight points for the Rams on 4-of-7 from the floor and added four rebounds.
  • The Rams received eight points and two rebounds off the bench from Nyantenji, while JD Okafor and Jahden Erold finished the game with seven points apiece.
  • The Lancers saw numerous players tally double figures in the game. Spencer led the way with 15 points, six rebounds, and two assists.
  • Chris Cardoso added 13 points, five rebounds and two steals, while Erik Bjorn added 12 points on 4-of-8 shooting off the bench along with 4-of-5 free throws.
  • Ryan Rubenskas and Hendrix each added 10 points with a collective seven rebounds and three steals between the two players.
