Framingham, Mass. – The Framingham State field hockey team scored two fourth-quarter goals to force overtime but ultimately fell to Plymouth State 4-3 on Thursday evening in Framingham.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Rams got on the board in the opening minute when Brandi Core finished off a rebound after a defensive save by Mackenzie Labrie.

In the 19th minute Athena Comeau knotted the game at one when she finished off a pass from Taylor Healey.

Plymouth took the lead in the 45th minute when Healey collected a rebound and slid it inside the right post.

Early in the 4th quarter the visitors added to their lead when Comeau tipped in a pass from Sarah Adamske.

The Rams got one back in the 48th minute when Isabella Kondi tipped in a one-time pass from Peyton Coonan to cut the Panther lead to one.

A few minutes later the Rams scored again when Ashley Malmquist scored to send the game to overtime.

In the third minute of overtime Comeau setup Healey for the game winner.

Plymouth State outshot the Rams 13-to-8 while the Rams had a 5-to-4 advantage in penalty corner.

The Rams return to action tomorrow when they travel to Bridgewater State for a MASCAC clash. Plymouth State hosts UMass Dartmouth on Saturday.
