Panthers Edge Field Hockey 4-3 in OT

Framingham, Mass.  The Framingham State field hockey team scored two fourth-quarter goals to force overtime but ultimately fell to Plymouth State 4-3 on Thursday evening in Framingham.  

THE BASICS: 

- Score:  Plymouth State 4, Framingham State 3 (OT) 

- Records: Framingham State (8-7), Plymouth State (8-5) 

- Location: Maple Street Field  Framingham, Mass. 

HOW IT HAPPENED:  

  • The Rams got on the board in the opening minute when Brandi Core finished off a rebound after a defensive save by Mackenzie Labrie.  

  • In the 19th minute Athena Comeau knotted the game at one when she finished off a pass from Taylor Healey.  

  • Plymouth took the lead in the 45th minute when Healey collected a rebound and slid it inside the right post.  

  • Early in the 4th quarter the visitors added to their lead when Comeau tipped in a pass from Sarah Adamske. 

  • The Rams got one back in the 48th minute when Isabella Kondi tipped in a one-time pass from Peyton Coonan to cut the Panther lead to one.  

  • A few minutes later the Rams scored again when Ashley Malmquist scored to send the game to overtime. 

  • In the third minute of overtime Comeau setup Healey for the game winner.  

  • Plymouth State outshot the Rams 13-to-8 while the Rams had a 5-to-4 advantage in penalty corner.  

UP NEXT: 

The Rams return to action tomorrow when they travel to Bridgewater State for a MASCAC clash.  Plymouth State hosts UMass Dartmouth on Saturday.
