Field Hockey Charges Past Bridgewater State in MASCAC Action

Framingham, Mass. The Framingham State field hockey team defeated Bridgewater State in MASCAC action 4-3 at Maple Street Field Tuesday afternoon.  

THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • The Bears jumped out to an early 1-0 lead when Lexi James finished off a pass from Jordyn Perry. 

  • The Rams answered when Kaylee Beck gathered a rebound and passed it to Emma Bailey who snuck it inside the right post.  

  • The Rams went ahead in the 19th minute when Isabella Kondi sent in a long strike that was tipped in by Kaitlin Loughlin. 

  • In the 45thminute, the Bears Brianna Gagnon squeaked a shot past the charging Rams goalkeeper to even the score at two.  

  • In the opening minute in the 4th quarter the rams retook the lead when Ashley Malmquist finished off a one-time pass from Kondi.  

  • The Rams added an insurance goal a few minutes later when Kondi sent an across that was tipped in the left post by Brandi Core.  

  • The Bears cut into the deficit when James scored her second of the afternoon in the 46th minute but that we be the closest it would come.  

  • Kaitlyn Tello made five saves in the win for the Rams while Catherine Daoulas turned away five shots in the setback for the Bears. 

 

UP NEXT: 

The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to Worcester State for MASCAC action. The Bears host Westfield State on Saturday at 4pm.
