Framingham, Mass. – The Framingham State field hockey team defeated Bridgewater State in MASCAC action 4-3 at Maple Street Field Tuesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Bears jumped out to an early 1-0 lead when Lexi James finished off a pass from Jordyn Perry.

The Rams answered when Kaylee Beck gathered a rebound and passed it to Emma Bailey who snuck it inside the right post.

The Rams went ahead in the 19th minute when Isabella Kondi sent in a long strike that was tipped in by Kaitlin Loughlin.

In the 45thminute, the Bears Brianna Gagnon squeaked a shot past the charging Rams goalkeeper to even the score at two.

In the opening minute in the 4th quarter the rams retook the lead when Ashley Malmquist finished off a one-time pass from Kondi.

The Rams added an insurance goal a few minutes later when Kondi sent an across that was tipped in the left post by Brandi Core.

The Bears cut into the deficit when James scored her second of the afternoon in the 46th minute but that we be the closest it would come.

Kaitlyn Tello made five saves in the win for the Rams while Catherine Daoulas turned away five shots in the setback for the Bears.
