Field Hockey Gets in the Win Column Over Rivier

Nashua, NH. The Framingham State field hockey team scored a late second quarter goal to defeat Rivier in non-league action 1-0 Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • The game's lone goal came with just under two minutes to play in the second quarter when Brandi Core found the back of the cage after a pass from Ashley Malmquist.  

  • Core led the Rams with six shots, two on goal Malmquist had five shots, three on target.  

  • Reilly Swislosky led the Raiders with three shots, one on goal.  

  • Kaitlyn Tello earned the win posting her first career shutout, making three saves along the way.  

  • Kyle Coupal made five saves in the loss for Rivier.  

  • The visitors outshot the Raiders by a 20-to-12 margin despite the Rams earning 12 penalty corners to the Rivier 10.
