Field Hockey Suffers OT Defeat at Rivier

Nashua, NH – Rivier's Jacklyn O'Connor broke a 1-1 tie in the final minute of the second overtime to sent the host Raiders past Framingham State in non-conference field hockey play Thursday evening in Nashua, NH.

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • Chloe Sicard struck first for Rivier in the 26th minute off a setup from Lia Yohanan to send the hosts into the break up 1-0.  

  • The Rams answered in the 42nd minute when Angelina Serra (Chelmsford, Mass.) scored her fourth goal of the year with Corlene Guenard (Acton, Mass.) picking up her team best 8th assist.  

  • Neither side registered a shot in the fourth quarter and only the Rams were able to tally an attempt in the first overtime before O'Connor ended the game with just 54 seconds to play.  

  • Katie Olsen made five saves in the win for the Raiders 

  • Sydney Kujawski (Dearborn, MI) made three saves in the loss for the Rams.  

  • Both teams registered six shots in the contest with the Rams earning 10 penalty corners to the Rivier 6.

  • The Rams close their 2021 season tomorrow evening when they travel to Fitchburg State for a Little East tilt.
