Bonilla-Mena Earns LEC Co-Defensive Player of the Week; Weir Repeats as Rookie of the Week

Framingham, Mass.- Framingham State sophomore Sacha Bonilla-Mena (Littleton, Mass.) has been named the Little East Conference (LEC) Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Week and freshman Mallory Weir (Bear, DE) has been named LEC Rookie of the Week for the week ending November 3rd.

Bonilla-Mena had the defensive play of the game, recording a defensive save 1:45 into overtime that would allow Framingham State to eventually record a 3-2 conference victory over UMass Dartmouth to close out the 2019 season. It was her second defensive stop of the year.

Weir was named LEC Rookie of the Week for the third time in 2019 after she scored two goals with one assist in the Rams 3-2 overtime triumph over UMass Dartmouth to close out the 2019 season. She potted the game-winner 8:09 into overtime for her team-leading ninth goal of the season.
