Framingham, Mass.- The Framingham State field hockey team defeated Dean College by a score of 9-0 on Wednesday night at Maple Street Field.
THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Rams took the early lead when freshman Mallory Weir (Bear, DE) converted on a penalty stroke for the 1-0 lead.
- After missing on another stroke opportunity late in the first quarter the Rams rallied for three goals in the second frame to head into the break 4-0. In the 17th minute Grace Thompson (Kennebunk, ME) tallied an unassisted score. Just under two minutes later Corlene Guenard (Acton, Mass.) got in on the action with an assist from Julia Tetreault (Sutton, Mass). In the 22nd minute Guenard struck again this time with help from Thompson.
- The Rams scored their fifth tally when Jordyn O'Boyle (Bradford, Mass.) got on the board with help from Isabella Kondi (Canaan, NH) and went into the start of the fourth up six after Kaitlin Burch (Douglas, Mass) tipped in a strike from Chelsea Getchell (Whitman, Mass.).
- The Rams scored again in the 54th minute when Weir tipped in a deflection from Tetreault. The Rams scored two more in the final two minutes to reach the final margin.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Rams keeper Grace Pushor (Old Towne, ME) earned the shutout in net for Rams. Alexis Masse (Woonsocket, RI) made 17 stops in net for the Bulldogs.
- The Rams took 30 shots and were awarded 19 corners in the contest.
UP NEXT:
- The Rams return to action on Saturday, September 7th when they host New England College at 2pm. The Bulldogs will travel to Salve Regina on the same day for a noon contest.
