Ackerman’s Two Scores Leads Field Hockey Over Rivier

Nashua, NH – Framingham State senior Meaghann Ackerman (Littleton, Mass.) scored two goals en route to a 3-1 non conference win at Rivier Thursday evening at Raider Field.

THE BASICS:

Score: Framingham State 3, Rivier 1

- Records:  Framingham State (2-4), Rivier (2-6)

Location: Raider Field – Nashua, NH

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Ackerman scored the games first goal in the 9th minute of play.
  • The Raiders knotted the score late in the 1st half when Maegan Sheehy scored with an assist from Jaclyn Fraser.
  • Rams freshman Jordyn O'Boyle (Bradford, Mass.) broke the dead lock early in the 2nd half before Ackerman added the insurance goal with 14 minutes to play.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

  • FSU freshman Grace Pushor (Old Town, ME) made eleven saves in net for the Rams.
  • Emily Foster & Katie Olsen combined for five saves for the Raiders.  
  • The Raiders outshot the Rams 16-to-11 in the game.

UP NEXT:

  • The Rams will host Western Connecticut in Little East action Saturday at 2:00 pm.
