Four Rams Named to LEC Field Hockey All-Conference Teams

North Dartmouth, Mass. - Four Rams were named to the 2009 Little East Conference (LEC) field hockey all-conference teams which were announced this afternoon by the Little East Conference office.  Junior forward Kristen Sacco (Mendon, Mass.) and sophomore midfielder Kayleigh Force (Leominster, Mass.) were voted to the first team and seniors Kali Barrett (North Attleboro, Mass.) and Katie Wotherspoon (Stafford, Conn.) were voted to the second team in voting conducted by the conference's head coaches. 

Sacco, who was the 2007 LEC Rookie of the Year and a first-team selection, ranked third in the conference this season with 43 points and 20 goals.  Sacco became the Framingham State All-Time leading scorer during the season in addition to breaking the school records for goals in a season and career. 

Force receives all-conference honors for the first time in her career as she was the anchor of the Rams midfield.  She established a new single season record for assists with 11 helpers in 2009.  She was tied for second in the conference in assists and was tied for tenth in points with 23.

Barrett receives second-team honors for the second straight season.  She was second on the team and sixth in the conference in scoring with 27 points and 11 goals.  Barrett is currently second on the All-Time scoring list behind Sacco.  Wotherspoon, a midfielder, receives all-conference accolades for the first time in her career.  She led the Rams with three defensive saves on the season.

The Rams finished the 2009 season in a four way tie atop the LEC Standings and were eliminated in the semifinals of the conference tournament. Their season continues as they received the third seed in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) New England Division III Field Hockey Championship.
