Ford & Martino Named to NEFW Division II/III All New England Team

Framingham, Mass. – Senior running back Devaun Ford (Mashpee, Mass.) and senior linebacker Jared Martino (Malden, Mass.) have been named to the 2023 New England Football Writers Division II/III All New England Team.  

Ford, a 2023 All-MASCAC First Team selection, earns All-New England honors after rushing for 1,201 yards this season on 212 carries. Ford averaged 133.4 yards per game, 5.7 yards per carry and scored 13 touchdowns. During his four years with the Rams, Ford amassed 4,208 yards rushing with 41 career touchdowns.  

Martino, the 2023 MASCAC Defensive Player of the Year, earns his first All-New England honors. Martino closed the regular season leading the conference with 12 sacks for a loss of 87 yards. He made two interceptions, bringing them both back for touchdowns and totaled 78 tackles this season with 56 solos. Martino led Division III in tackles for loss while his 12 sacks ranked fifth nationally. 

Thirty-one conference all-stars representing 19 schools from the six New England Division II and 

III football playing conferences have been selected to the 2023 New England Football Writers Association All-New England team. The team, selected by a committee of representatives from the six conferences, honors the best Division II and III players by position in New England from the 2023 season. 

The Division II Northeast-10 leads the team with seven players selected. The Commonwealth Coast Conference had six picks. The Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference, the New England Small College Athletic Conference and the New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference had five each. The Eastern Collegiate Football Conference tallied three selections. 

NEWMAC champion Springfield College, Northeast-10 titlist University of New Haven, CCC winner Endicott College, NESCAC Co-champion Trinity College and Anna Maria College had three selections each. Bentley University and Framingham State University each had two picks. Additional players selected are from Assumption College, Bowdoin College, Bridgewater State University, Curry College, Husson University, Middlebury College, Salve Regina University, Southern Connecticut State University, Tufts University, UMass Dartmouth, the United States Coast Guard Academy and Western Connecticut State University. 

The team will be honored at the New England Football Writers Captains and Awards Banquet on Thursday, December 7, at the Sheraton Framingham Hotel and Conference Center.
