Martino Named Defensive Player of the Year as Football Lands Eight on All-MASCAC Teams

Framingham, Mass. – Senior linebacker Jared Martino (Malden, Mass.) has been named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Defensive Player of the Year as the Rams landed eight players on the 2023 MASCAC Football All-Conference Teams.  

Joining Martino on the All-MASCAC first team defense are senior outside lineback Chase Buono (Lynn, Mass.) and sophomore defensive lineman Daniel Oloyede (Norwood, Mass.), while senior running back Devaun Ford (Mashpee, Mass.) was the Rams lone selection to the first team offense. 

Senior defensive back MoMo Nazaire (Somerville, Mass.) was selected second team defense, while senior offensive linemen - guard Brian Callery (Lowell, Mass.) and tackle Tevin Cadet (Medford, Mass.) - join place kicker junior Matthew Farley (Middleboro, Mass.) on the second offense.  

Martino earns Defensive Player of the Year honors after closing the regular season leadign the conference with 12 sacks for a loss of 87 yards. He made two interceptions, bringing them both back for touchdowns and totaled 78 tackles this season with 56 solos. Martino currently leads Division III in tackles for loss while his 12 sacks has him fifth nationally.
