Monteiro and Martino Earn MASCAC Football Weekly Honors

Framingham, MA – Junior linebacker Najier Monteiro (Fall River, Mass.) and senior linebacker Jared Martino (Malden, Mass.) have been named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Football Special Teams and Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending September 24th.   

Monteiro earns special teams player of the week honors after blocking Westfield State's attempt at a game winning 32 yard field goal with under 10 seconds remaining in the game as the Rams held on for a 9-8 victory over the Owls. 

Martino earns defensive player of the week honors after recording 10 tackles including seven solo stops in the win over Westfield State. Martino registered a half sack and 3.5 tackles for a loss in the game as the Rams held the Owls to just 32 yards rushing the game.
