Football Falls to #6 St. John Fisher 38-7

Rochester, N.Y.  The Framingham State University football team was defeated this afternoon 38-7 by number six ranked St. John Fisher in non-conference action this afternoon at Growney Stadium.  

THE BASICS:

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • The Rams defense was paced by seven tackles including five solo with one for a loss from Cully Curran, while Dylan DeWolfe added six stops including five solo and one for a loss. 

  • Joshua Onujiogu chipped in with six stops including two for a loss and a sack for a loss of 13 yards, while Chase Buono finished the contest with five tackles and one for a loss. 

  • Donovan Carr completed 9-of-18 passes for the Rams for 88 yards with a touchdown and a pick, while Noah Leonard went 6-of-12 for 46 yards. 

  • Marcus McBean Jr. And Isaiah Hanks were the Rams leading receivers. Mc Bean made two catches for 29 yards, while Hanks had three grabs including a touchdown. 

  • St. John Fisher's Hunter Walsh complete 11-of-20 for 137 yards with two scores, while Dahmir Pross rushed for 46 yards on 10 carries. 

  • TySean Sizer made four catches for 71 yards with a score, while Richie Quinn also caught a touchdown. 

  • Jos Miscia led the defense with 12 tackles and a pass breakup, while Anthony Manna tallied five stops including two for a loss with a 39-yard fumble return. 

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • After a scoreless first quarter, St. John Fisher got on the board in the second quarter with a pair of touchdowns.  Pross scored first on a 5-yard touchdown with just over nine minutes remaining in the half and Manna followed with a 39-yard fumble recovery return for a touchdown with just over four left in the quarter. 

  • St. John Fisher extended the lead to 38-0 with three scored in the third quarter and one in the fourth before Carr and Hanks connected for a 9-yard touchdown for the Rams with just under six minutes remaining in the game.

The Rams are back in action next Saturday when they host UMass Dartmouth at 12 p.m. as part of FSU's Homecoming and Family Weekend.
