Baseball Opens Season with Setback at Endicott

Beverly, Mass. - The Framingham State University baseball team opened the 2024 season with an 18-6 loss to Endicott College this afternoon in non-conference action at North Field.   

THE BASICS: 

-Scores:  Endicott 18, Framingham State 6 

- Records: Framingham State (0-1), Endicott (7-0) 

- Location: North Field Beverly, Mass. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • The Rams grabbed the early lead with four runs in the top of the first inning. Ryan Boyle and JC Espinal singled home runs. Joseph Cicchetti drove in a run with a fielder's choice and an error on the play allowed the final run to score in the inning. 

  • Endicott responded with nine runs in the bottom of the first, taking the lead for good. 

  • The Rams added a single run in the top of the second on an RBI double from Espinal and a single run in the top of the sixth on a Boyle double. 

  • Boyle finished the game 4-for-5 at the plate with two doubles, two RBI and two runs scored, while Espinal finished the game 3-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored.
